Raj Bahal

Raj Krishan Bahal passed away peacefully on April 20. 2024 in Cedar Park, Texas.
He is survived by Suneel (Maglin) Justin & Matthew, Paul (Theodora) Anaya & Ari.
Raj was born in Lahore, India to Parmanand & Prakashwati Bahal and was the youngest of 5 siblings: Amrit, Parshottam, Chameli & Kamal. He remained in Lahore until the partition, when he moved to New Delhi, India with his family. He would later attend The University of Delhi, completing his Bachelor's degree and began a Master's program before immigrating to Toronto, Canada in the late 1960s.
There he met the love of his life Brij (Bridget Bahal). Their love marriage was atypical for the time, as it was not arranged and bonded a North Indian Hindu with a South Indian Roman Catholic. Despite the language barrier, he was able to charm and win over his future in-laws. He would marry Brij and have two sons, Suneel in 1972 and Paul several years later in 1979. He worked at the Workers Safety Insurance Board until his retirement in the mid 1990s. He later joined United Airlines where he worked for a decade in order to afford him the freedom to pursue his passion for travelling.
He was an extrovert with a great sense of humour that allowed him to effortlessly connect with others. He had many hobbies including singing, cooking, gardening and visiting new places. His love of trying all foods and drink allowed him to form connections with people from all parts of the world. Being free spirited, he enjoyed offering a fine scotch with various cuisines to his sons and their visiting friends. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and was so proud to be a grandfather to: Justin, Matthew, Anaya and Ari.
His larger than life presence has left behind an indelible mark on his friends and family. Now at the end of his journey he would not want you to mourn, but rather celebrate his life. His final wishes are to have some of his ashes remain beside his soulmate, Brij whose final resting place is in Georgia, with the remainder of his ashes released into the sacred Ganges by his sons.
