Randall Scott Godwin passed away at home on March 15th. Born on September 15, 1969, Scott was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend who touched the lives of many with his gentle spirit and loving kindness.
Despite facing significant challenges, Scott demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience throughout his life. During his youth, he was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America through the First Baptist Church of Graham, where he was a member. Scott attended the 15th World Scout Jubilee in Alberta, Canada. He earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout, a significant achievement that reflects a Scout's dedication, hard work, and commitment to the values of Scouting. Only about 4% of Scouts have earned this prestigious rank, and Scott was among the very few to claim this achievement.
Scott was a Graham High School graduate and later attended Elon University, where he received a bachelor's degree in business. He had a lifelong passion for music and Chinese art, and he was a talented artist and writer known for his beautiful penmanship. Above all, Scott loved and cherished his family.
Scott is survived by his parents, Randall and Patsy, his brother, Sean, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Narvin and Mavis Godwin and Joe and Nellie Mae Daughtridge.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 12 pm at Graham Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Graham, PO Box 779, Graham, NC 27253.
Scott was a loyal and loving person and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We find comfort in knowing that he now rests in heaven and his soul is at peace.
Matthew 11:28-30: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
