Randel L. "Randy" Hess, 73, of St. Thomas Township, Chambersburg, entered into rest December 30, 2025, at Mercy House of Chambersburg. Randy served in the Peace Corps from 1974 through 1977 and is survived by his wife of 48 years Marilyn (Quiroz) Hess whom he married July 14, 1977.

Randy was born November 5, 1952, in Chambersburg, a son of Grover and Romaine (Snyder) Hess of Amaranth, PA. Growing up in Edenville, he graduated from James Buchanan High School in 1970. He attended Hagerstown Junior College from 1970 to 1972 and then went to Penn State from 1972 until graduating with his bachelor's degree in 1974.

Mr. Hess was employed in his family's business, Oak Forest Restaurant and Grocery from 1983 to 1993 and then for more than 20 years as a salesman at Keystone Ford.

In addition to his memories of serving in the Peace Corps, where he met Marilyn who became his wife, he was also a Penn State fan and enjoyed hunting, golfing and being with his family.

Surviving with his wife and parents, there are 2 daughters, Christina Fischer (Adam) of Crystal Spring, PA and Jennifer Amsley (Ryan) of Chambersburg, 5 grandchildren, Maximos, Grant, Ford, Hank and Cora and his brother, Greg Hess, (Debbie), of Greencastle.

A memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Fries Funeral Home in Mercersburg, with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers send donations to Mercy House, 730 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
