Randy Bruce Dodson

Randy Bruce Dodson, 71, passed away in the early morning of February 28. He was preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Janet Dodson, and a brother Terry Dodson. He is survived by the love of his life Sandra Budreau Dodson, with whom he was devotedly married for 45 years; children Sarah Hill (Matthew Hill), Nathan (Caitlin), and Amanda; and grandchildren Ellis Hill, Boone Dodson, and a granddaughter due in June.
The services will be held on Friday, March 7 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home in Cookeville, Tennessee. Visitation is 3-5 PM and will be followed by a short service at 5 PM.
Randy served as a Signalman 3rd Class in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S Brumby. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Plant and Soil Science and a Master's Degree in Biology from Tennessee Technological University, and his Master's Degree in Plant Genetics from Southern Illinois University. He was ordained as a Minister at Johnson University near Knoxville, Tennessee.
Fulfilling his passion for happy and healthy eating, he spent the last decades of his life dedicated to supplying local organic produce. He loved the Lord and used his gift of teaching to feed his community both body and soul. He brought joy and laughter to family, friends, and strangers. He could make a conversation about compost riveting and has been the life of every party since 1953.
Randy was adored by his family and will be deeply missed.
