Raymond Reece Jr.

Raymond Reece, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 65 years, Margie Cordelia Souther Reece, his son, William Melvin Reece, and his siblings Earl Reece, Ray Reece, Mack Reece, & Emma Joe Henderson.
Raymond "Papaw" was a devoted caregiver to his wife Margie "Mamaw" in her final years, standing by her side with unwavering love and dedication. His quick wit, unmatched sense of humor, and stories from his wild younger days were ever present. The never-ending banter between Mamaw and Papaw made every visit one full of laughs.
He is survived by his children: Mike (Clatie), Cathy (Tim), and Steve (Elaine), who will carry forward the lessons of love, resilience, and humor he instilled in them. He was a loving brother to his siblings Martha Gas, Johnny Reece, & Henry "Bunton" Reece. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Tosha (Mike), Amber (Charlie), Christopher (Victoria), Michelle (Justin), Danny (Katie), William, Kristina, Natalie, and Tiffany. His love and wisdom will continue through his great-grandchildren: Taya (Brandon), Justin, Alivia, Cora, Garren, Michael, Penelope, Phoebe, Jackson, Addison, Skyler, Tucker, and Josey; and his great-great-grandchild, Olivia.
Though his time on Earth has come to an end, his legacy of devoted love, laughter, and steadfast strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at Church Street Funeral & Cremation on April 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM. A time of visitation will be held on April 7, 2025, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
