Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory - Souderton on May 2, 2024.
Rebecca "Becki" (Bishop) Hendricks, 82, of
Souderton, PA, grew up and spent her married life in Telford, PA.
Becki was promoted to glory on April 30, 2024, in Healthcare at Souderton Mennonite Homes.
For 61 years, Becki was the committed wife of the late Wilbur N. Hendricks. She was born to the late Paul Bishop and the late Muriel "Sandy" (Swartz) Bishop at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, PA, and grew up on a chicken farm.
She graduated from Christopher Dock Mennonite High School in Lansdale, PA, Class of 1959.
Wilbur and Becki were married at Rocky Ridge Mennonite Church. During their marriage, Becki kept home and office organized while working as the bookkeeper for her husband's Custom Built Homes business at their home in Telford, PA. She also contributed to the design of these homes.
Throughout their marriage, Wilbur and Becki were deeply involved in the Rocky Ridge Mennonite Church ministry for many years. As a team, Wilbur and Becki traveled to mission locations around the world, sharing their building skills. In addition to this, they invited international young people into their home through the International Visitor Exchange Program (IVEP), a Mennonite ministry that they participated in for many years. In 1990, while on a missions trip to India, Becki fell into a stone quarry and suffered a spinal cord injury. Paraplegia, however, did not stop her from continuing to bless her family and international friends. As a student of the Bible, she lived and shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone.
Becki, devoted wife and mother, took special delight in her grandchildren, generous to a fault. Add to this scrapbooking, cooking, gardening, orchids, reading, and traveling. She loved to live adventurously!
Becki is survived by her daughter, Denise Baum & husband, Timothy of Telford, PA; her two sons, Todd Hendricks & wife, Karen of Harleysville, PA, Tim Hendricks & wife, Sara Lee of New Hope, PA; her daughter-in-law, Rachel Hendricks of Koshkonong, MO; her 10 grandchildren – Jacob, Joseph, Julianna, Reuben, Lillian, Austin, Helena, Gisela, Jordana, & Isabella; her seven great-grandchildren – Jackson, Sarah, Emily, Shelby, Olivia, Sophia, & Shepherd; her sister, Donna Bluemink of Norfolk, VA; and her two brothers, David Bishop & wife, Coleen of Spartansburg, PA, and Alexander Bishop & wife, Rosa of Perkasie, PA.
