baptized under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend F.C. Ransom
and became a devoted member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, where he
began building the foundation of his lifelong faith. Reggie's early education took place in the heart of East Austin, where he attended Rosewood Elementary, Kealing Junior High, and McCallum High School. He later became a proud graduate of the original L.C. Anderson High School, Class of 1974. Pursuing higher education, Reggie attended Laney Junior College in Oakland, California, and later completed his Associate of Arts diploma in Electronics at Nixon Clay. Reginald S. Caldwell, Jr., was first united in marriage to Deborah Arnold-Mack, and from that union one child was born. He later married Audrey Edmondson-Caldwell, and they have been married for over 38 years. Nochildren to this union, Reggie lovingly embraced Audrey's three sons as his own.
Reginald was a skilled General Contractor, a trade he learned from his
grandfather, the late Arthur Parks. Following his military career, Reggie worked for over 35 years in Corporate America in the field of Information Technology with respected companies such as Dell, MCI, and MRSW. He also spent 11 years as a Bus Operator with Capital Metro and as a UT Shuttle Bus Driver.
In later years, Reggie joined his daughter and son-in-law at their family business, Special Protection Security Services, where he served with pride and professionalism as a Level III Certified Security Officer for four years. Reginald was a kind soul with a vibrant personality and a contagious sense of humor. He loved to tell jokes, and anyone who spent time with him was sure to laugh and leave with a smile. His playful spirit made him the life of any gathering. He was truly a gentle giant, warm, welcoming, and full of joy.
A lifelong football fan, Reggie proudly cheered for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. He was also well known for his barbecue and fish frys. He found peace in fishing, joy in music, and fulfillment in spending time with family and friends.
