Rethabile Tlou

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Rethabile Tlou, affectionately known as Retha. Retha was born on April 17, 1991, to her loving parents Alton and Maretha and was the cherished third-born in the family. Retha's journey through life was marked by determination, resilience, and a passion for learning, taking her on adventures across continents and leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Retha's educational journey began at Centenary School and Kumalo Primary School, where she laid the foundation for her bright academic future. She later attended Eveline High, where she not only excelled academically but also honed her skills for a promising future. With a thirst for knowledge that knew no limits, Retha furthered her studies at BASS, Masiye Phambili College, Speciss College, and recently, West Chester University. Her dedication led her to explore the German language, which would later prove invaluable for her participation in an Au Pair program. In Germany, Retha completed her Au Pair program and a social year in Dusseldorf and Hamburg, further broadening her horizons.
Retha's global adventures didn't stop there. In 2014, she embarked on a new chapter by moving to the United States on a student visa. Always resourceful and hardworking, Retha took on multiple jobs to support herself and fund her education. Her journey eventually led her to the field of law, and in 2022, she proudly graduated with an Associate Degree in Administrative Justice.
While Retha's dedication to her studies was evident, she also knew how to embrace life to the fullest. Her annual getaways with friends from Orlando were moments of pure joy and adventure. She truly loved and lived her life to the fullest, leaving an indomitable spirit, smile, and sound that touched everyone around her. Additionally, Retha was an active member of the Worship Team at Christ First Church in Downingtown, PA.
Retha leaves behind her mother, Maretha Moyo, 3 siblings, family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
