Rheta Mary Luy

Rheta Mary (LeDuc) Luy was born January 12, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Entered eternal life May 21, 2025, Hendersonville, North Carolina. She was Baptized February 24, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; her First Communion was in June of 1944; and she was Confirmed on April 22, 1956, in Shorewood, Wisconsin.
Predeceased by husband, Richard "Dick" Luy; parents, Alfred "Fred" and Margaret (Schaffer) LeDuc; and brother, Ronald. She is survived by her children, Donald and his wife, Peggy (Smith), Dale and his wife, Charlotte (Heverly), and Sharon and her husband, Howard Schwartz; grandchildren, Kevin Luy, Kyleen Crane (Derek), Kendall Luy, Brett Luy (Kelsey), and Erik Schwartz (Justine); great-grandchildren, Sawyer Crane, Silas Crane, and Mila Luy.
She was a graduate of Rufus King HS - 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For 67 years, she and her husband, Dick raised a family together, living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Madison, New Jersey. They took time to travel internationally to two continents. Rheta was a regular attendee at her children's activities and often had something special planned when grandchildren visited. An immaculate housekeeper, Rheta enjoyed sewing and bowling in a rec league for many years.
Rheta was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Hendersonville, North Carolina, where she spent many years serving on the Altar Guild at both of her churches. Rheta and Dick preferred to be unseen servants of God as they supported numerous charitable organizations throughout their lives together.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, at Grace Lutheran Church. The family will greet visitors beginning at 10:00 a.m., and the service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
