Princeton - Richard H. Bloch 79 of Princeton, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024. He was born in Oak Park, IL on June 2, 1945 to Harold and Florence Block.
Richard spent the early years of his life living in Hillside and Berkeley Illinois where he often spoke of spending time with his Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. He talked about the family's Cotugno's restaurant in Hillside celebrating the holidays or at the Block's home in Wood Dale watching the steam locomotives moving through town. He enjoyed his diverse family back ground speaking and quoting phases in Italian, German, Russian, and Latin.
Education was very important to Richard, graduating High School at the now Walther Academy in Melrose Park, and then a degree from Quincy College in Quincy IL. He went on to obtain a Master's Degree from DePaul University, in Chicago, IL.
Richard honed his skills to work in Banking, Manufacturing, and Accounting, being a Manager, Bookkeeper, and Legal Assistant. He had Certificates in Banking and also an Illinois Teacher's Certificate.
He spent the later part of his life in Princeton IL, where for over 40 years he made many friends that became his family. His passion was his faith where he belonged to the St Louis Parish. He was a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus supporting many endeavors with his time. Richard would often quote scripture to provide wisdom or to make a point. Richard served his community holding office as a Local Committeeman, Election Judge and a member of the GOP. He worked very hard this last election to ensure victory for his candidate.
Richard is survived by many cousins with the names Bloch, Salvatore, Debee, and Zito. He leaves behind his spirit of kindness and concerned that will be dearly missed.
