Alamosa resident Richard Mulnix, 56, passed away at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colorado. Born on December 6, 1967, in Waukegan, Illinois to Gerald and Elizabeth (Brock) Mulnix, Richard's passion for life, art, and music touched all who knew him.
Richard's love story began with his beloved wife, Shelley, they were wed on the 28th of December 1992 in Colorado Springs, CO they then built a beautiful life filled with laughter and love. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Nathaniel Mulnix of Alamosa, CO, and Katherine (Samuel) Mace of Mesa, AZ. Richard's joy was multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Forrest Cole who is 9 years old and Isaac Mace who is 8 years old, who were the apples of his eye.
A family man at heart, Richard's siblings Debbie Mulnix of Colorado, Karen Green of Tempe, AZ, Carol Waggener of Mesa, AZ, Roger Mulnix of North Carolina, and Jim Mulnix of Arizona, along with his mother-in-law Georgia Anderson and sister-in-law Audra Cantelon, will forever remember his warm spirit and generous heart.
Richard was a proud alumnus with a Bachelor's degree and dedicated many years of service in customer support at the Bureau of Land Management, where his work ethic and congeniality were highly valued.
Richard was a gamer and loved playing with his son Nathaniel Mulnix. He loved to play Omaha and cribbage and enjoyed the simple things in life! He connected on a special level with his grandchildren, he truly was a child at heart.
A true music aficionado, Richard's life was a symphony of melodies. His artistic soul found expression through playing the guitar, drawing, and painting. He was a voracious reader, an astute chess player, and an ardent concert-goer, he loved live music. Nature was his sanctuary, and he found peace in hiking and reveling in the beauty of the great outdoors.
Above all, Richard was a man of faith who loved the Lord with all his heart. His legacy is one of kindness, creativity, and an unwavering devotion to his family. Richard's melody will resonate in the hearts of those he left behind, playing a tune of cherished memories and everlasting love.

One of my memories was when Gerald, uncle Bob, Brian,Barry,Richie and I were having dinner at Three Thieves and Gerald and Bob were arguing over who was paying the bill. Richie“s mouth dropped as he watched the drama between his father and uncle. I told him this is a routine they all play. Of course, Gerald won. Aunt Pat
