Richard P. Sweeney Sr., 78 of Landisville, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by his children. He was the husband of the late, Idalia N. Sweeney. Born in York, PA, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Erma G. (Fishel) Sweeney.
Richard leaves behind three children: Richard P. Sweeney, Jr. husband of Charlotte Walton Sweeney, Mounty Joy; Trina M. wife of Michael Albert, Landisville; Meagan K. Sweeney, Landisville. He leaves behind nine grandchildren: child of Richard, Jr., Abigal S.; children of Trina: Brandon, Gabriella, Ethan and Dylan; children of Meagan: Argely, Isabella, Elaina & Grayson.
He graduated from Spring Grove High School and joined the U.S Marine Corp upon graduation. He worked in sales for 30 plus years and then became a truck driver at 72.
He found the Lord again and re-established his faith with the church.
"Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to Take."
Memorial services and interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.

Prayers go out to his family. I met Rick at the dances, Rey nice gentlemen. He will be missed. He is now resting in the arms of our Lord with no pain and whole body. Rest in peace my friend. Molly Schaffner,friend.
