Rickey Lee Ward, Sr., 64, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 25, 2024, at First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch. Burial to follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the funeral home in Fritch. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to a charity of choice

Rickey was born December 27, 1959, in Amarillo, Texas to Alvie Howard Ward and Dora Lee Beard Ward. He married Christina Hilton on April 28, 1994, in Amarillo. Rickey was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dora Ward; daughter, Contessa Ward; brothers, Butch Ward, Jerry Ward; and sister, Lottie Louise “Punkin” Ward.

Survivors include his wife, Christy of Fritch; sons, Christopher Teague Ward of Amarillo, Rickey Lee Ward, Jr. of Amarillo, Christian Blake Ward of Amarillo, Skylar Cole Ward and Laci Hyre of Fritch; grandchildren, Cearah Teague, Michael Hudnal, Brandon Hudnal, Jacob Paramore, Journey Ward, Jasper Hyre, Christopher Dale Teague; two great granddaughters; brother, Dale Ward and wife Glory of Amarillo; mother-in-law, Kathy Whelchel of Houston; mother and father-in-law, Terressa and Ronald Hilton of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
