Rita Corradi, of Ridgefield, CT passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 at the age of 95. She was
born in Bronx, NY on January 14, 1930, the daughter of Salvatore and Jennie (Mangieri) Moccia.
Rita was raised in the Bronx, lived in Ozone Park Queens, Yonkers, NY, New Milford, CT, then
Mahopac before moving to Ridgefield, CT. She was a long time parishioner of St. Mary's Church
in Mt. Vernon, Our Lady of the Lakes in New Milford and St. John the Evangelist in Mahopac.
After graduating from Walton High School in the Bronx, She worked at several businesses. She
married Arigo "Harry" Corradi in 1954 at the Church of St. Angela Merici and took on her best
job ever being a wife, homemaker and mother. She raised three children while maintaining a
spotless house, cooking the best meals and teaching them about the Lord our God. Her children
did not know houses can actually get dirty or food can taste bad until they left home.
Her greatest joy was sharing her love of Jesus Christ and praying for others in need. Rita was a
four foot tall "Prayer Warrior" and mighty in her faith. Along with her husband Harry, she
attended prayer groups, bible studies and Christian events all her life. She led prayer meetings
and bible studies in their home and welcomed anyone who needed prayer and discernment for
spiritual guidance. She had wonderful forever friends and family who shared her love of Jesus.
Her children and grandchildren felt the love of Jesus shining through her each and every day
and have learned to pass that love on to their children. She was a wonderful daughter, sister,
wife, mother, aunt and friend to all who were blessed to have know her. She will be forever
missed. Those who have gone on before us, live in our memory as they did in the flesh, Loving
and being Loved.
Rita's husband Arigo passed away on January 9, 2022. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa
Barletta and husband, Richard of Mahopac, her sons, Peter and wife, Barbara of North Salem,
NY and Joseph and wife, Romana of Carmel, NY; her sister, Ann Moccia; her grandchildren,
Richie, Anthony, Nicholas, Joseph, David, Julia and Michael and her great granddaughter, Lily
Grace.
Visiting will be held on Friday, July 18 from 3-7 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19 at 10 am at St. John the
Evangelist Church in Mahopac with interment to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Brewster, NY.
