Liberta Haering

Liberta Haering, age 93, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, in North Salem, New York.
Born in Plainfield, New Jersey on April 5, 1932, Liberta was the daughter of the late Anthony and Gilia (Arbace) Mollo. She spent her formative years in the Bronx, attending Walton High School, where she laid the foundation for her future. Liberta's professional journey led her to a career in Quality Assurance with American Hotel & Motel Association in New York City, a role in which she exemplified integrity and precision. She also worked for Segal Company as a time charge coordinator/compliance.
Her legacy is carried forward by her loving family, her children Susanne and husband, Ron Watkins and Peter and wife, Lauren Haering. Her adoring grandchildren Anthony Watkins, Christopher Watkins, Christina Harrison & husband, Josh and Peter W. Haering, along with her great granddaughter, Soleina. She was predeceased by her brothers, Tom and John Mollo. The delight of her life was embracing the role of grandmother to grandchildren, each milestone, laughter and day spent with her grandchildren proved to be the source of Liberta's greatest joy.
Liberta enjoyed many interests including dancing, reading and crocheting. She loved cooking and baking as well.
A woman of grace and dignity, Liberta's passage through life has left an indelible mark. As we say our goodbyes, we honor a life well lived and a woman deeply loved. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial to honor and celebrate Liberta's life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at St. James the Apostle Church, 14 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, NY.
Following the Mass, Liberta will be escorted to her final resting place at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, NY.
