Robert “Terry” Bennett, age 84, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on October 6, 2025, surrounded by family and under the compassionate care of hospice.

Terry was born on May 13, 1941, in Guntersville, Alabama, to Paul and Jewell Bennett. After completing high school and college, he proudly dedicated his life to serving his country and community. Terry served 27 years of active duty in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He continued his service through Civil Service with the USAF for another 18 years, bringing his total career in military service and instruction to 44 years.

As an Air Force Technology Instructor, Terry trained thousands of Airmen and future leaders, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, mentorship, and integrity that will be remembered by all who learned under his guidance. Outside of his professional life, Terry enjoyed cruising in his beloved Mustang and was a proud participant in the “Cruisin’ the Coast” car show, where he shared his love for classic cars with friends and fellow enthusiasts.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Leisa Tickerhoof, and son-in-law, Frank Tickerhoof; grandchildren, Shane DeVore, Jarrett DeVore, and Samantha Tickerhoof; and great-grandchildren, Raiden, LoKi, and Penny DeVore. He is also survived by his brothers, Russell Bennett and Dennis Bennett; and his cherished pets, Bevo, Jessi-girl, and Phoebe Bear.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at the Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Keesler Hospital, Singing River ICU nurses, and the caring staff of Gentiva Hospice for the compassion and dedication shown to Mr. Bennett during his final weeks.

Terry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many whose lives he touched through his decades of service and kindness.
