With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert "Bear" Berrones, a beloved husband, father, son, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the age of 59. He was born on April 2, 1965, in Jourdanton, to Barbarito Berrones and Josie Ramos. Robert spent his life in Pleasanton, where he touched the hearts of many with his warmth, humor, and unwavering spirit.
Robert was known for his infectious laughter and his genuine ability to bring joy to those around him. A passionate lover of music, he cherished his friendships with many musicians, often sharing moments filled with rhythm and harmony. His playful nature also shone through in his love for sports; he played baseball throughout his youth and continued to enjoy softball until 1997.
Beyond sports, Robert found solace in cutting grass, a simple yet fulfilling activity that served as his personal getaway. He had a unique way of expressing himself. His family fondly recalls the sight of Robert dancing while weed-eating, headphones on, blissfully unaware of his surroundings as he imagined himself playing guitar in a world of his own. He was a man who put others before himself, exemplifying love for his family and friends. Fishing and barbecuing were among his favorite pastimes, bringing people together and creating cherished memories.
Robert dedicated years of his life to the Pleasanton Independent School District and later worked for EC Lath and Plaster, where he made lasting connections with colleagues and clients alike. He leaves behind a legacy of selflessness and love that will resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Barbarito Berrones; sister, Diana Berrones Garcia and husband Jose Pablo "Pepe" Garcia, Jr.; grandmother, Mauricia C. Ramos and nephew, Daniel Coronado.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Leticia Berrones; daughters, Briana Nicole Berrones, Brittany Naelyn Berrones and her daughter, Alizae La Rae Martinez, Brilee Nakota Berrones; mother, Josie Ramos; sisters, Irene Fernandez (Frank), Barbara De La Garza (George); father-in-law, Luis De La Rosa (Guadalupe Briseno); nieces and nephews, Patricia Smith (Frank), Laura Rivera (Paul Maldonado), Anthony Rivera (Skye Vicente), Shelly Fernandez, Ricardo De La Garza, Vanessa Leal (Robert), Jessica Carrillo, Jennifer Hernandez (Kevin) and numerous extended family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by family and friends who were fortunate to share in his journey.

Services will conclude at that time. All who knew and loved Robert are encouraged to join us in celebrating his remarkable life, filled with laughter, compassion, and love.
In his memory, may we all continue to share the joy he brought into our lives and strive to put others first, just as he did. Rest in peace, dear Robert; you will forever remain in our hearts.
