Robert "Bob" Leopold, 98, of Chappell, passed away Monday evening, January 20, 2025 at the Garden County Health Services Nursing Home in Oshkosh.
Following Bob's wishes cremation has taken place and memorial services are being planned for a future date.
Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home and Cremations in Chappell is serving the Leopold family.

He was born August 11, 1926, in Lebanon, Nebraska to Ivan and Irene Leopold.
On August 11, 1946, he was married to Shirley Louise Dean in Loveland, Colorado. After serving in the US Navy, Bob graduated from Pharmacy School at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado in 1948. In 1960, Bob and his family moved to Chappell, Nebraska and purchased the Rexall Pharmacy, which became the Chappell Pharmacy. He loved working and continued to fill prescriptions for the next 69 years, finally fully retiring at the age of 92.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors, especially rock hunting. He and Shirley spent many hours scouring the hills and Platte River in search of rocks and Indian artifacts. A man’s man, he also loved hunting, fishing and golf.
Bob was also very dedicated to the community of Chappell. Over the years, he served as President of the City Council and Rotary Club. He also volunteered as an EMT for the city ambulance service. In 2011, he was honored as King of Deuel County. As King, he issued a mandate that the citizens of Deuel County should serve and honor the King of Kings. His commitment to God took top priority in his life. He taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served on the church board of the Chappell Assembly of God Church and was a member until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, one daughter Katherine I. Schuler and husband Jack of Colorado Springs, Colorado, two sons, Douglas Dean Leopold of Oshkosh, Nebraska and Robert K. Leopold and wife AeCha of Valley, Nebraska, 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald and Neil Leopold, daughter-in-law, Nancy Leopold and great-granddaughter, Kaylie Rose Silzell.
