Robert "Bob" L. Casey, 98, of Marion, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 3:52 a.m. in the Marion V.A. Medical Center – Community Living Center.

He was born on April 4, 1927 in Anna, IL, to Guy and Ruth (McFadden) Casey.

Bob was a graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School Class of 1945.

He proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army, serving during World War II. After his period of faithful service, he was honorably discharged.

Bob was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Garren on March 30, 1958 in Centralia, IL. Together they shared nearly fifty years of marriage until she preceded him in death on January 18, 2008.

Heyde-Pillow Post 1301 and proudly served for many years as a member of the Funeral Honors Detail. He was also previously a member of the Marion Elks Lodge #800. Bob was an excellent bowler and golfer. He bowled some nearly perfect games and in 2007 won first place in the Super Senior Flight Tournament at Pine Lakes Golf Course. Bob especially enjoyed spending time doing anything outdoors, particularly fishing, hunting (deer, turkey, and ducks) golfing, gardening and working in his yard. He also coached little league baseball for over thirty years. The many wonderful memories created with Bob will now be cherished by the treasured family members and friends he leaves behind.

He is survived by his children, Pat Tondini of Lexington, SC, Sean Casey of Dade City, FL and Cathie (Tim) Mieldezis of Marion, IL; grandchildren, Matthew (Erin) Tondini, Gabriel Casey, Steven (Debbie) Tondini, Michelle (Timothy) Briggs, Jeffrey (Leigh) Tondini, Kana Boudreaux, Kyle (Ashley) McCleland, Timothy (Aubrey) Mieldezis and Joshua (Brandy) Mieldezis; seventeen great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie; son, Mike Casey; daughter, Chris Casey; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, C.J. Elam and John Paul Elam.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
