Dr. Robert H. Cofer, former long-time resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away at age 92 on November 7, 2024, at his home in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born in Calhoun, Tennessee, graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee Medical School and practiced internal medicine in Cleveland, Tennessee. Throughout his life, Bob had an elevated level of intellectual curiosity. With an interest in birding, he photographed unusual birds he spotted along the way. He was a member of the Washington Pike United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of over 68 years, Mary Anne and his daughters and sons-in-law Cynthia Anne and Mark Buckmaster, Karen and Jon Gelula, Jennifer and Ark Evans, and his son and daughter-in-law Ken and Suzane Cofer, his grandchildren, great-grandchild, and nephew Bill Godsey. He was predeceased by his mother, Bess T. Cofer and his grandparents Dr. and Mrs. Henry F. Taylor. He will be missed but remembered with love. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, November 11, 2024, at Rose Funeral & Cremation Broadway, in Knoxville, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Washington Pike United Methodist Church or your charity of choice. Online obituary and guest register are available at www.rosefuneraltn.com.
