Devoted husband of the late Edith Ann (dec. 1992), and the late Darlene (dec. 2018).
Cherished father to Robert Paul Dettloff (Debby Sue), Regina Ann Dettloff, Derek James Dettloff, Stacey Conway (Steven), Christian Hargreaves (Tanya), Jaimee Foguth (David) and Bryan Hargreaves (Kristie). Caring grandfather to Ashley Peace, Katherine Wallace, Elisha Foguth, Emma Conway, Joel Foguth, Molly Conway, Alex Dettloff, Dustin Dettloff, Brianna Foguth, Shanna Dettloff, Katelyn Hargreaves, Jake Hargreaves, Josh Hargreaves, Cohen Hargreaves and Ariel Hargreaves. Loving great-grandfather of 5. Beloved brother of the late William Dettloff (dec. 2023) (Rosemary), Richard Dettloff (Sharlynn) and Geraldine Daras.
Robert was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving ten years in California, Greenland and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. After leaving the Air Force, he went to work for Federal Mogul, retiring after 30 years. He enjoyed bowling and golf and loved eating ice cream.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, August 31, 2pm-8pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Vasu, Rodgers, and Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, 48073.
Funeral Mass Friday, September 1, 10am at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, 2100 W. 12 Mile Rd., Royal Oak, 48073. Visiting at church begins at 9:30am.
Rite of Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
