I just recently learned about the passing of my aunt Ruth. I would only see her in the summer when she came to Maine and the last time I saw her was at the graveside service for my father, (her brother) in 2019. I also learned about the passing of my cousin, her oldest son, Bruce who passed in Aug of 2022. I will remember them both with love and memories.

I am so sorry that I am so late with passing my sympathy on to the family of Ruth Dettloff. I have known Ruth for many years, and she was always an inspiration to talk to. I met Ruth and Don when they would pick up their grandchildren at First Baptist Children's Center. Faith was about 4 years old, and Aubrey was about 2 years old. I was a student working at the Preschool and later returned as the Director after college and that is about when Matthew came along! I have been privileged to be in touch with Ruth these many years! She loved her family and would always share an update with me of their many activities. It was a joy to talk to Ruth on the phone and hear the joy in her voice, no matter what the circumstances were! I will always remember her loving ways! She will be missed! Sincerely, Joan Whiteman (Miss Joan)
