Robert W. Friske Jr., known affectionately as Bob (Bobby) to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Evansville, IN, at the age of 73. Born on September 28, 1951, in Elmhurst, IL, to the late Robert and Violet Friske, Bob's (Bobby's) life was a testament to his resilience, hard work, and the deep love he had for his family.
Bob's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his country and his profession. He proudly served in the United States Army, a period during which he developed the discipline and strength that would characterize his many years as a truck driver. For over four decades, Bob's work as a truck driver showcased his commitment to excellence and reliability, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers in the industry.
At home, Bob was a devoted husband to his wife of 33 years, Teresa Dempsey Friske. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Their partnership was a source of strength and joy not only to each other but also to those who knew them. Bob was a loving father to Kelley (James) Kincade-League of Evansville, IN, and Eric (Monika) Kincade of Carbondale, CO. His role as a father was one he cherished deeply, guiding his children with a gentle hand and supporting them in all their endeavors.
The light of Bob's life shone brightest when he was with his grandchildren, Liam, Kaelin, Zoe, and Mattias. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and enjoyed regaling them with an occasional tale from his own rich life experiences. Bob (Bobby) also leaves behind several sisters, who will miss his warmth and protective nature.
Beyond his family and work, Bob was a man of many interests. He had a passion for wood burning and creating beautiful pieces. He also enjoyed all things outdoors. Bob would not be seen without a loyal dog companion by his side. He also found joy in sightseeing, taking in the wonders of the world with an appreciation for both the grandeur of nature and the simple beauty of everyday life.
Bob's legacy is one of love, service, and dedication. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say goodbye to Robert W. Friske Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved. He will be profoundly missed, but the impact of his life will continue to be felt by all who were touched by his generous spirit.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Robert, please visit our floral store.
