Robert D. Jacobus, 89, of Bordentown, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Robert resided in Bordentown for 55 years. Robert was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Church in Bordentown, a member of the Knights of Columbus and long-time volunteer at St. Mary's Church Community Food Pantry. Robert was a sports enthusiast, playing and coaching various sports but especially loved running, golf and basketball. He played for Trenton Junior College's Championship Basketball Team, as well refereeing and coaching young people in the sport. Robert retired as Senior Engineering Assistant from Public Service Electric and Gas, Trenton Division, after 39 years. Robert was an active supporter of the employee's union there. Many of his friends affectionately called him "Jake."
Robert is survived by his loving family, wife Margaret Jacobus, his twin brother David Jacobus, son Robert and daughter-in-law Lori Jacobus, son Shawn Jacobus, daughter Laura Eaton, and grandchildren Katelyn, Emily, David, Julia Jacobus and Imogen Eaton.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 9:30AM-10:30AM, at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11AM, at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 45 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ.
Interment will be held in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's memory to St. Jude's Memorial Research Hospital. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Robert, please visit our Tree Store.
