Robert Rehmel Obituary

Born February 1, 1934, in Blackhawk, Indiana, to Carl Robert and Dollie Kittle Rehmel, Bob had lived in this area since 1960. He graduated from Pimento High School in 1952, received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University, and his master's from Ball State. Bob taught Industrial Arts at Richmond High School for 31 years, and Mathematics at Indiana University East from 1991 to 2001. He raised sheep and cattle, tended honeybees, and always planted a garden. Bob was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, receiving many awards over the years. He served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his sons, Shaun (Ronita) Rehmel, Derek Rehmel, Keith (Eun Joo Kim) Rehmel; grandchildren, Jennifer Rehmel, Ahren Rehmel, Anya Rehmel; a great-grandchild on the way; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Rehmel; parents; sisters, Hazel, Marie, and Virginia; and brother, Sherman.
Visitation for Robert Leon Rehmel will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 121 South 18th Street, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Earlham Columbarium. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Boys & Girls Club of Wayne County, 1717 South L Street, Richmond, IN 47374 or Boy Scouts of America, Crossroads of America Council, 199 South Plum, Hagerstown, IN 47346.
