Robert Schuster Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brater-Winter Funeral Home (Harrison) on Jan. 15, 2025.
Robert Schuster, lovingly remembered as a devoted father, cherished friend, and remarkable gentleman, passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on August 17, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Joseph and Nellie (Ruwan) Schuster.
Robert graduated from Elder High School and further pursued his studies at the University of Cincinnati. His strong sense of duty and dedication to his country led him to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he showcased his remarkable character by befriending and feeding the local children and serving our country.
In 1967, Robert met the love of his life, Bernardina "Yvonne" Vandegeer, and they celebrated their union on October 5th. Together, they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Sherry and Tammy, both of whom brought immense joy into his life.
For many years, Robert worked as a purchasing agent, building enduring relationships and earning the respect of all who knew him. Beyond his professional pursuits, he had a passion for life and a sweet tooth that was truly unmatched-his love for chocolate chip cookies and Dove chocolates was legendary among his family and friends.
Robert found joy in the simple pleasures, from watching Hallmark movies to traveling, with a special fondness for Hawaiian cruises. Known for his infectious sense of humor, he was always the one to brighten a room with laughter, often playing light-hearted pranks and even dancing on local television with his beloved cousin, Donna..
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife: Bernardina "Yvonne" Schuster; daughters: Sherry (Pete) Farwick and Tammy (Leon) Garcia; cherished grandchildren: Zachary, Elizabeth, Brianna Farwick, Sara (Austin) Roy, Emily (Josh) Garcia; Great grandson: Isaiah Weber.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Nellie Schuster; and brother: Joseph (Nina) Schuster.
Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030, on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10010 Carolina Trace, Harrison, OH 45030.
