Marlow: Robert Darrel Sweany, 61, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Visitation will be available to the public on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 8:30 AM until 12:30 PM, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM officiated by Pastor James Miller. Visitation and funeral services will be held at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the Sterling Cemetery.
Robert Sweany was born on August 31, 1963 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Darrel and Patricia Sweany. He graduated from Sterling High School. Robert married Shawna Bennett in 1983, and to this union their son, Brian Sweany was born. Robert later married Rebecca Hutchinson, on September 14, 2006 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Robert enjoyed the outdoors; he loved to go to the lake and go fishing as well as going 4-wheel driving. He also enjoyed visiting with people. Robert was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Robert was a member of the Christian Center of Duncan, OK. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Sweany of the home, son, Brian Sweany and wife, Cheyenne, of Hinton, OK, daughter, Brittny Brooks and husband, Lee, of Marlow, OK, five grandchildren, Layla Sweany, Garrett Sweany, Nora Sweany, Bryson Brooks, and Corbyn Brooks, brother, Brent Sweany of Phoenix, AZ, nephews, Brad Hale and Chad Hale, and nieces, Kathy Bradford, Crystal Hale, and Sonya Spence.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna Hale.
