BUCKLIN, KANSAS – Robert E. "Bob" Tilley, 78, passed on to eternal glory with Jesus on July 21st, 2025, at the Minneola District Hospital in Minneola, Kansas. He was born on October 31, 1946, in Dodge City, the son of Robert Olen and Betty (Rundell) Tilley. He was a graduate of Bucklin High School and attended Emporia State University and Dodge City Community College. He was a lifelong area resident of Bucklin, and for over 50 years he worked as a truck driver for BTI, Bucklin Grain, and various local farmers. Bob enjoyed working on the farm, trucking, and taking care of his cattle. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren meant everything to him. He cherished traveling to their sporting events and visiting Arizona and Kansas City to be with them. He also loved taking his dog, Toby, for a jog down the dirt roads as well as enjoying trips to the Colorado mountains. You could often find him savoring a chocolate malt, devouring a piece of pie, or getting into mischief with his life long best friend, Kent Moore. One of his absolute favorite activities was attending church and in recent years he grew tremendously in his faith. Every night he was faithful to pray for each of his children and grandchildren. Survivors include: four children, Sloan Marriott and husband Mark of DeSoto, Kansas; Paige Brack and husband Shawn of Mullinville, Kansas, and their mother, Diana Hoover; Swede Tilley and wife Stephanie of Sun City West, Arizona; and Scott Tilley and wife Cassy of Minneola, Kansas, and their mother, Cyndi Tilley; eight grandchildren, Luke and Hope Marriott, Sam Chappell, Colten, Hunter, and Landon Tilley, and Kaden and Bailee Tilley; three brothers, Kenny Tilley and wife Deena of Johnson, Kansas; Tony Tilley and wife Judy of Bucklin, Kansas; and Todd Tilley and partner Renae of Bucklin, Kansas; his beloved dog, Toby; and many amazing nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Adam McChain Tilley and a grandson, Wyatt Justice Tilley. Memorial service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Bucklin High School Gymnasium with Scott Tilley officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Bucklin Cemetery. There will be no public visitation, cremation has taken place. The family suggests memorials to Hill Top House in care of Minnis Mortuary, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
