Roberto Martinez, born December 16, 1938, in Laredo, Texas passed away peacefully on
August 6, 2025 after a courageous battle with Dementia but never forgetting his love of God. "Bob" was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years Ruth Lucille Martinez, his parents Paula and Tomas Martinez, his brothers Rey and David, his sisters Esperanza 'Hope" Quiroga and Angela Perego, and nephew Rolando Quiroga. Bob moved to Lansing in 1949 and graduated from Eastern High School. He was the oldest of 7 children and a U.S. Army Veteran. Bob spent 30+ years working at General Motors, while serving in the Army National Guard. After retiring, Bob volunteered at the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
He leaves behind his beloved family: step-daughter Teresa (Mike) Bell, Grandson Jake Forbush, Brother Tomas, Sisters Irene Lopez and Manula (Millie) Castilla, along with many nieces and nephews. Bob loved his family and his church. Many thanks to Diane Winkler for the special care she provided to Bob and his cat Milkshakes.
Visitation will be held at Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes Holt-Delhi Chapel, 5035 Holt Road, Holt, MI on Monday, August 11 from 11:00am-12:00pm. The Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:00pm.
