Rodney R. Langlois, 74, of Highland Park IL passed away on 2/22/2025 at his home. He leaves behind his loving wife Nancy, his children Rachel Langtry, Julia, and Christopher (daughter in law Brittany), grandson Alec Langtry, Paul and Tim Semish. He also leaves behind many wonderful friends from around Highland Park and Highwood that he met while living and working in this town for most all of his life. Highland Park was his home and back yard, he worked for Highland Park public works for over 30 years and got to know it's streets like his own backyard. He was a dedicated worker going out on water main breaks and plowing the roads during snowstorm at all hours of day and night. He was an avid fisherman and collector of antique Chicago made Schwinn bicycles. He also loved to collect marbles and used them to decorate the house. He was a stubborn man who always wanted to get things done the right way the first time and an hour earlier then he said. When taking family vacation he would give everyone a departure time of 8:00am and that meant that we were expected to be packed and have everything in the car the night before and be in the car ready to go at 7:15am. He was loved by animals and had a way of making even the grumpiest children smile and laugh. He was an amazing Husband, Father, and friend and will be dearly missed.

Rodney was our neighbor my whole life and ever since my parents lived here. (Berger's) we are all very deeply saddened by the news of Rodney's passing and he will be missed. He was a vital figure in my life growing up (his house being a major stop on Halloween) and even just saying hey and giving him a wave whenever I drove by. I'll always remember him sitting on the front steps just enjoying life and stopping by to have a quick chat. To Rodney, may you rest in peace and to his family, know that if you need anything our house is just down the road.
