ROGER WILLIAM FISHER, son of Hayden and Martha Knost Fisher, was born August 7, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma and departed this life on October 17, 2023, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years.
On May 15, 1964, Roger was united in marriage with his forever love, partner in everything and eternal best friend, Sharon "Sherri" Sell. They were synonymous, "Roger and Sherri" conquering life side by side, through tears and triumphs. To this union was born two children, Lisa and Marc. Prior to Roger's passing, they had shared nearly sixty years together.
Roger was no stranger to hard work. He took great pride in providing for his family. As a young man, he worked at Detroit Tool, where he was employed for twenty-two years. He made life long friends with many of his co-workers and treasured their friendships.
In 1982, he became an assistant photographer at Fast Photo. Eventually, he and Sherri were approached to open their own photography business. In 1985, after much consideration, countless prayers and sleepless nights, they opened Fisher Photography. The good Lord answered their prayers and they were successful serving countless families in capturing their memories for many years.
In younger years, Roger was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed fishing, especially bass. Most importantly, Roger loved the Lord and his family. He led by example and loved his family unconditionally and without limitation.
Roger is survived by his wife Sherri; one daughter, Lisa Mowery and her husband Bob; one son, Marc Fisher and his wife Pam, all of Lebanon, MO; grandchildren, Kayla Eichmeyer and her husband Greg, Bobby Mowery and his wife Anna, Ryan Mowery and his wife Jenell, Reagan Mowery, Hogan Fisher and his wife Brandi, Macie Rogers and her husband Evan and Riley Fisher; three great-grandchildren, Cooper Eichmeyer, Lily Mowery and Kinsley Mowery; sister-in-law, Doris Sell; nephew, Kevin Sell and his wife Michelle and their family; niece, Andrea O'Brien and her family; other relatives and countless friends.
Those preceding him in death include his parents and his brother-in-law, Ronny Sell.
Roger was many things to many people. He was a devoted husband, loving dad, fun-loving "Bops" and "Poppie." He made our lives better. He made each of us feel important and beautiful. Although we will miss him here, what a gift it is to have someone that makes saying "see you later," so difficult. He will be forever missed.
"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever
it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."
~Aaron Siskind~
