Roger T. Liebert, 77, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on September 30, 2024 surrounded by his family. Roger was born to the late Raphael and Bernice Liebert on November 9, 1946. He attended grade school at St. Therese, graduated from Trinity High School, Class of 1964, and graduated from Bellarmine College in 1970 with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. In grade school, he met the love of his life, Patricia "Patty" Kipp, and got married June 1, 1968. Together they would raise three beautiful daughters.
Roger was employed with the United States Postal Service for 30+ years. He started as a mail carrier, working his way up through management, and was an area manager of postal operations before he retired. He selflessly served his country in the Army Reserves. He was a member of the St. Martin's Brotherhood, Knights of Columbus, and was the President of National Association of Postal Supervisors (NAPS). He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Roger loved golf, enjoyed puzzles like Sudoku to keep his mind sharp, and was an avid UK basketball fan. He was hard working, dedicated, hard-headed, loveable, loyal, fair, and family oriented. He would always say he was not rich with money, but he was rich with family and friends, a true family man.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his siblings: Donnie Liebert, Norman Liebert (Mary Anne). He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 56 years, Patty Liebert; daughters: Laura Harp-Biven (Robert), Karen Liebert-German (Nathan), and Angela Liebert; grandchildren: Sawyer Biven (Hanna), Preston Harp, Ethan Harp, Kaleb German, and Kipp German; his granddog, Motzi; siblings: Judith Liebert, Jeannie Colyer (Steve), and Larry Liebert (Donna); sister-in-law, Mae Liebert, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family, and close friends who will all continue his legacy.
The family would like to say a special "thank you" to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Baptist Health Palliative Care for treating Roger like family and going above and beyond.
Visitation will be from 10:00am - 6:00pm, Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Ratterman Brothers, East Louisville (12900 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40243). A funeral mass will begin at 10:00am, Monday, October 7, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church (3705 Stone Lakes Dr, Louisville, KY 40299).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hosparus Health (6200 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, KY 40205) or Mass of the Air (1200 South Shelby Street, Louisville, KY 40203-2600).
