Ronald W. Denson Sr., 59, of Warwick passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on June 24, 2025. He was the loving husband of Kimberly (Miller) Denson, they had been married for 21 years. Born in Winfield, Illinois, he was the son of the late Richard Denson and the late Penelope (Hahn) Denson Spellman.
Ron was a 1984 graduate of Pilgrim High School in Warwick, where he excelled in both soccer and wrestling, exemplifying sportsmanship both on and off the field.
After high school, Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Independence from 1984-1989.
Most recently Ron was employed by Summit Medical Compassion Center – GTI. As a Team Lead he was loved and respected by his coworkers. Prior to Summit he was in the Seafood Industry, as a salesperson for Great Northern Products.
Ron will be remembered for his infectious smile and his contagious laugh. He was loyal to all who knew him. Ron enjoyed the thrill of a good game, whether it was watching golf, cheering on the N.E. Patriots or playing poker online, at the casino or during friendly home games.
Besides his wife Kim, Ron is survived by his loving children Phylicia Proulx and her husband Jeffrey of East Providence, Ronald W. Denson Jr. and his fianceé Gabrielle of Warwick, and Kyle Denson of Warwick. He was the grandfather of Penelope Denson and Ronald W. Denson III. Ron is survived by his siblings, Deborah Cabral and her husband Jay of Warwick, Michael Denson and his companion Dianne of West Warwick, Kathleen Medeiros and her husband Douglas of Warwick, Matthew Denson and his wife Regina of Millington, TN, Suzanne Fernandes and her husband Christopher of Coventry, as well as several nieces and nephews he also leaves behind one maternal Aunt, Janet Kotek and her husband Dennis of Cary, NC. He will also be missed by his beloved dog Queenie.
Ron was fortunate to be embraced by the Shepherd family, Jimmy, John and Gerrigail, who took him in during a time of need and provided him with love and support.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Committal Service and Military Honors ceremony on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Those attending are asked to arrive by 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations in Ron's name can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, or HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
