Struthers - Ronald E. Fauls, 68, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at his home, after being diagnosed with cancer four years ago.
Ron was born July 19, 1955 in Youngstown, OH, a son of Edward and Jane (Dugas) Fauls.
Ron was a 1973 graduate of Struthers High School and began his career with the Poland Water Treatment Plant. Working for the plant for 20 years, he advanced his way to the position of Plant Operator. Ron earned his Class IV Water Certification through the Ohio EPA and was a 48-year member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA). In 2000, Ron and his family relocated to Fostoria, OH, where he worked for an additional 20 years as the Plant Operator for Fostoria and Sydney Water Treatment Plants. In 2020, Ron retired due to his cancer diagnosis and moved back to his hometown of Struthers.
Some of Ron's favorite pastimes included listening to music, especially The Beatles, playing guitar, and fishing with his best friend Lou at Evans Lake and Pine Lake. Ron especially enjoyed relaxing and spending time with his wife Kathy at their second home in Cape Cod, MA. Through the years, nothing has brought Ron more joy than his title of "Papa."
Ron was a kind, loving, and humble man, with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by many.
Ron leaves to carry on his memory, his loving wife of 40 years, the former Kathleen Ryan, whom he married November 18, 1983; his father, Edward Fauls of Cape Coral, FL; sons, Scott Hodges of Falmouth, MA and Richard Katsigianis of Struthers, OH; siblings, Timothy (Bonnie) Fauls of Boca Raton, FL and Benita Pisciuneri of Cape Coral, FL; four grandchildren, Austin Hodges, Sydney (Donnie) Dombrowski, Nikos Katsigianis, and Ryan Fauls, Jr; and three great-grandchildren, Braxton Manners, Donnie Dombrowski, Jr., and Emma Dombrowski.
In addition to his mother, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Fauls, Sr.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 5-6:45 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, where a funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.
