STOW - Ronald E. Nichols, 64, passed away June 13, 2024.
Born in Warren, he was a resident of Stow, and a 1978 graduate of Waterloo High School. Ron was a U.S. Navy veteran, retiring from active duty in 1995 after serving aboard the U.S.S. Midway, with the rank of Aviation Boatswain's Mate. After his retirement, he went on to work for Boxley Material in Roanoke, Virginia, and later for Medina Supply.
Ron was a member of the Munroe Falls Police Reserves, enjoyed woodworking, making flag boxes, and was an avid Virginia Tech Hokie fan. He also liked to travel all over the world, and had visited many countries, including Iceland, Japan and Greenland.
Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Chico, and step-mother, Judy Nichols, he is survived by his beloved wife of five years, Kathie Nichols; father, Gerald (Jean) Nichols; siblings, Jerri Lynn (Ed) Delahurty, Lori Way, Susan (Tim) White, Amy (Brett) Greathouse; stepson, Shawn Mantey; nieces, Brooke Nichols, Alexis Jones, Jamie Gill; nephews, Shane Fisher, Michael Gill; many great-nieces and nephews; exchange students, Hannah Remmert of Germany and Clem Vicq of France.
Bishop David Snyder will conduct the funeral service at 11 AM, on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 106 East Howe Road, Tallmadge, OH 44278, where friends may call from 10 AM until the time of service.
