Ronald Larry Turner Sr.

Ronald Larry Turner Sr., affectionately known as "Buddha," passed away on April 10, 2024, at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC. He was born on September 6, 1941, in Hendersonville, NC. Buddha was the beloved husband of Katie Graham Turner for 58 years (his "Bride").
Larry had a distinguished career as a real estate developer and business entrepreneur. He was the founder and owner of Turner and Associates and Market Insight Properties. He developed and built hundreds of commercial properties including restaurants, day care centers, movie theaters and grocery stores. He held a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Bachelor of Science from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He was a proud graduate of Hendersonville High School's Class of 1959. His success in the real estate industry was secondary to his larger-than-life ability to mentor countless young people with aspirations to make a career in the real estate industry. He never hesitated to sacrifice personally for the better of his family and friends and helped so many get a start in life. He loved UT Football, tailgates, and music with soul.
Larry is survived by his wife, Katie Graham Turner; daughter, Courtney Turner Tiger and her husband Christopher Pierson Tiger of Atlanta, GA; son, Montgomery Graham Turner Sr. and his wife, Martie Powell Turner of Nashville, TN; son, Ronald Larry Turner Jr. and his wife Leane Doggett Turner of Davidson, NC; grandchildren, Montgomery Graham Turner Jr., Christian Brooke Turner, Anna-Leigh Beatrice Turner, Grace Seth Turner, Tyler Shanks Turner, William Hampton Turner, Pierson Graham Tiger, Laurel Cathryn Tiger, Merritt Turner Tiger, Christopher Brierly Tiger; sister, Kay Turner Nelson of Macon, GA; brother, James Douglas Turner of Irvine, CA; sister in law Billy Graham of Eclectic, AL. He is survived by his four-legged best friend, Lucy.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, James William "Bill" "Potsy" Turner; mother, Micky Wilma Noe Shanks; and sister, Pamela Noe Stitley.
A Celebration of Life for Buddha will be held June 8, 2024 in Hendersonville, NC. Details of the celebration are forthcoming once finalized.
Larry was the loving patriarch of this family. He will be missed but remains omnipresent.
