Gregory "Greg" Evan Freeman, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on July 11, 2025, in Henderson County, North Carolina, at the age of 59. Born on December 27, 1965, in Henderson County, Greg spent his entire life embracing the beauty and spirit of his hometown.
Greg was a man who found joy and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life. For over 12 years, he dedicated himself to meticulous work in the detail shop at Boyd Chevrolet, where his commitment and attention to detail earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. More recently, he channeled his adventurous spirit as a climber for Roy's Tree Service, a role that allowed him to connect with nature and embrace his love for the outdoors.
Greg had a profound appreciation for the tranquility of fishing and relished every moment spent casting a line in the company of nature. Whether playing a friendly game of cornhole or feeling the wind rush past him on his motorcycle, Greg lived life with enthusiasm and a zest for adventure. A product of East Henderson High School and Hendersonville High School, Greg carried the values and friendships he forged there throughout his life.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Billie Eugene Freeman, Sr., and Gloria Crisp Freeman, who instilled in him the virtues of kindness and perseverance. His legacy continues through his devoted wife, Melissa "Lisa" Freeman; his cherished children, son, Joshua and daughter, Kristen; and his loving siblings, sisters Cindy Freeman, Sheila Harrell, and Teresa Harrell and husband, John; and brother, Billie "Gene" Eugene Freeman, Jr. and wife, Stephanie.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, Greg's spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind memories that will inspire future generations to live fully and love deeply.
No services are scheduled at this time. However, those who wish to honor Greg's memory are encouraged to spend a moment outdoors, enjoying nature as he often did.
To assist the family of Greg Freeman, they have established a Memorial Fund in his memory to raise funds for his funeral arrangements. This Memorial Fund will help Greg's family with the funeral expenses needed. Shuler Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
