Ronald Eugene Vernon was born January 14, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Eugene Everett and Margaret (Meier) Vernon.
Ron graduated from Albia High School. On January 16, 1959 Ron was united in marriage to Judy Stocker. The couple lived in various locations around the United States due to Ron’s employment. Prior to retirement, Ron was a drywall installer, worked for Caterpillar and was an over-the-road truck driver.
Ron was a quiet, private man, who intensely loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ron passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 88 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to honor Ron’s memory include his wife, Judy; Children: Christine Lincoln, Ronni Schroeder, Russell Vernon, and Tammy Beuthien; 9 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; siblings: Jay Vernon and Janet Vander Vinne and many other family members and friends.
Ron has been cremated and burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery in Hiteman, Iowa at a later date.
