Passadumkeag - Ronald L. Wallace Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 20, 2025. He was born on August 17, 1934, the son of Gordon and Ellen (Lugdon) Wallace. Ronald grew up in Howland and was one of the first graduating classes of Penobscot Valley High School, graduating in 1952. After high school, he became a millwright at Great Northen Paper in East Millinocket until a work related accident disabled him. He was a man with a sharp and witty sense of humor, who will be remembered as a legendary practical joker. In his free time, he cherished his hobby of woodworking, with countless hours spent in his wood shop creating pieces that still remain in his families homes today. Ronald was a proud mason for 50+ years, and notably brought his famous biscuits and molasses filled cookies to each meeting.

Ronald is survived by his seven children, Cathy (James) Fitzgerald, Bonnie Wallace, Donald Wallace, Lori (Royce) McCarthy, Michael Wallace, James Wallace, and Ronald Jr. (Sharon) Wallace; daughter in law, Elizabeth; 11 special grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years, Imogene (Tinkham) Wallace and son, Sheldon Wallace, Brothers: William, Gerald, Leonard, Frank, Sheldon, and his twin, Donald, Sisters: Ellen, Gloria, Theresa, and Rita. He was the last of his siblings to pass.

Ronald's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Cummings Healthcare Facility, Gentiva Hospice and Bristol Hospice for years of fantastic care. A graveside service celebrating Ronald's life will be held Saturday, September 6th at 11am at Goulds Ridge Road Cemetery in Passadumkeag with a gathering to follow.
