Memorial services for Ronald Edward "Ron" Walton, 80 of House Springs, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 31, 2025, at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Perry with Pastor Jamie Franke officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
Mr. Walton passed away at 11:36 PM, Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal, surrounded by his family.
Ron was born on February 28, 1944, in Mexico, the son of Ira Edward and Virginia Swon Walton.
Survivors include one son; Scott (Tracy) Walton of Vandalia, two daughters; Krystal (George) Shaw of Vandalia, and Tabatha Walton of Fulton, one brother; Donald (Gayle) Walton of Bloomfield, IA, one sister; Patty (Jim) Light of Hannibal, three grandchildren; Colby Walton of Monroe City, Brooke (Hunter) Jackson of Bury St Edmunds England, and Lauren (Lukas) Shelton of Harrisonville, three great grandchildren; Axl Pennewell, Lincoln Jackson and Amelia Shelton, along with numerous family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Walton was a 1962 graduate of Mark Twain High School. He was a devout Christian attending church regularly. He owned and operated Walton's Carpet Shop in Vandalia in the 1970s. He then moved on to the insurance business. He actively marketed pre-need arrangements working through various funeral homes in Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa. He enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting and fishing. He was an avid bowler, golfer, and collector of antiques. Ron was a huge fan of St. Louis Cardinal baseball and Kansas City Chiefs football.
