Rose Fernandez Eschete, age 90, a resident of Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Rose was born on January 11, 1935, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She was married to the late Arthur Eschete, of Houma, Louisiana, for 46 years, where she lived most of her life.
Rose loved being a loving wife and homemaker and took great joy in her role as the matriarch of her family. Her heart belonged to her late husband, Arthur Eschete, the love of her life, and their bond was one of deep affection and partnership. Rose never met a stranger and loved to share her life stories with everyone. She deeply loved and admired her four daughters, treasured watching her grandchildren grow and shine, and found endless joy in cuddling, playing with, and showering all her grandchildren with love. She shared her warmth by crocheting beautiful afghans and frying plantains for those she loved. A faithful Catholic, she prayed nightly for her family and lived each day guided by faith and love.
She is survived by her 4 daughters: Catherine Grosskopf of Florida, Allyson Hutchinson (John) of Spring, TX, Vickie Allen (Tim) of Houma, La, and Heidi Kerley (Collin) of Spring, TX; 9 grandchildren: Meghan Sousa (Mario), Margot Anderson (James ‘JT’), Lauren Petrie (Jake), Ryan Hutchinson (Mary Katharine), Madelyn Rose Hutchinson, Jacob Allen (Emilie), Chelsea Reynolds (Seth), Cooper Kerley, and Hadley Joy Kerley; 10 great-grandchildren plus 2 more arriving soon: Mario Jr., Brianna, Jackson, Payton, Calvin, Hutch, Knox, Clint, Miles, and Levi; and one sister and brother of Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur A. Eschete; her parents, Bernaldo Fernandez and Catalina Toro; 4 sisters, and 1 brother.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Spring, Texas. A committal service will follow on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:00a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Houma, Louisiana, where she will be laid in eternal rest with her husband Arthur.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of St. Luke’s Health the Vintage for their care provided to Rose and for the tender, loving care provided by Heart to Heart Hospice House.
