ROY WESLEY MCINTOSH August 14, 1935 – December 23, 2024
Long time La Quinta resident, Roy McIntosh died at JFK Hospital due to complications from a fall. He was 89.
Roy was a lifelong Coachella Valley resident except for his U.S. Army service, serving in Korea from 1958-1959. Roy graduated from Coachella Valley High School in 1953. He worked in the family businesses, McIntosh Pharmacy and Sherman's Liquors, retiring in 2000. From early childhood, Roy loved mechanical things exploring "how" and "why" things worked. He was always eager to help someone with a project.
Roy and his wife, Brinda of 48 years, loved to Jeep and camp with lots of friends, and in later years covered most of North America, including Alaska in their motorhome. In the last 14 years, they traveled with The Pacific Trailer Club.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Robert McIntosh of La Quinta, and Steve McIntosh of Vista, CA, two grandsons, Ryan McIntosh and Travis McIntosh, brothers Cal McIntosh and Tom McIntosh and a sister, Linda York. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Lena McIntosh-Potts and Sherman McIntosh.
