Ruthann Saulen, 59, of Coventry, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2025. Ruthann is predeceased by her parents, Peter F. Saulen and Maryruth (Duffy) Saulen, as well as her son, James D. Buckland and brother Joseph M. Saulen.
Ruth, as many lovingly knew her, is survived by her daughter, Shannon Buckland and bonus daughter Kristen Mendez both of Hartford, CT; her sons, Anthony and Flavio Saulen of Albuquerque, NM and Peter and Guilhereme Saulen of Churchville, NY; her grandson, Jaishaun King of Hartford, CT, her brother, Peter J. Saulen and his significant other April Mann of Churchville, NY; as well as many cousins and aunts from MA and NH.
Born in Hartford, CT on July 12, 1966, Ruth was a long-time resident of West Hartford and attended Hall High School. Ruth was a jack-of-all-trades and held many types of jobs. Ruth was a very sociable person and loved spending time with friends and family, especially taking road trips with her daughter and grandson. She loved animals and horseback riding. Ruth was an avid reader and spent a lot of time doing diamond art, coloring and needlepoint.
Ruth was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left us too soon and her departure has affected many and she will be greatly missed.
A memorial of her life will be Tuesday, (August 12), from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford.
