Sally Nicely

GREENFIELD – Sarah Jane (Holt) Nicely, known to most as Sally, age 79, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis on November 30, 1943 to Glendon Holt and Helen (Farmer) Holt. Sally was a 1961 graduate of Greenfield High School. She married Donald Nicely on June 22, 1963 in Greenfield.
For many years, she worked at Greenfield Classic Design Floral as a bookkeeper. Sally enjoyed playing cards and played in a card club for over 50 years. She adored the Christmas season and all the decorations that came along with it. In her free time, she loved traveling to Seal Beach in California and spending time with her loved ones at the family lake house on Lake Tippecanoe.
Sally is survived by her daughter, Dianne Hoover (Greg) of Greenfield; granddaughter, Deidre Low (Cody); bonus grandchildren, Rachel, Amanda and Jamison; great-granddaughter, Jade Low; 5 bonus great-grandchildren; siblings, John Holt, Mary Lou Poe (Earl) and Martie Crider (David) all of Greenfield; aunt, Eileen Farmer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glendon and Helen; and her husband, Don.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at the mortuary on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 3:00 p.m.
