Sandra "Aunt Sandy" Kennedy, 68, cherished aunt, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She had bravely confronted and fought cancer. She was born February 14, 1957, in Washington DC, and resided in Rehoboth Beach, DE for more than two decades, having moved from Maryland to be closer to the beach. With a degree in nursing from the University of Maryland, Sandra enjoyed a career as a nurse at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and Rehoboth having spent much of her life helping others. She had a love for cooking and an uncanny ability to be stubborn yet sweet at the same time. Her ability to tell it like it is and yet offer a sheepish grin in the same sentence was unmatched. She is survived by her brother, Robert Sancewich of Issaquah, WA; nephew David Sancewich of Oregon City, OR; nephew Stephen Sancewich of Issaquah WA; Nephew Gregory Sancewich of Snoqualmie WA; and nephew Brian Sancewich of Rockville, MD. She was preceded in death by her Father Walter Sancewich, Mother Ann (Zimmer) Sancewich, brother Gerald Sancewich and nephew Michael Sancewich. A celebration of Sandra's life and the love she shared will be held in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Sea Turtle Conservancy, https://conserveturtles.org as she enjoyed giving back to others. John 11:25-26 - Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.
