Schlanda Lynell Bush

Schlanda Lynel Bush, a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024, at the age of 52. Surrounded by the love of her family and the rich culture that had always been a part of her life. Born on November 3, 1971, in New Orleans Louisiana. Schlanda was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Theodore Bush at Community Baptist Church. Schlanda was a graduate of Alfred Lawless High School. Schlanda's journey was marked by her unwavering dedication to Christ, family and loved ones. Her career in healthcare spanned many years, during which she touched the lives of countless individuals with her compassion and care. Schlanda was not only respected by her colleagues but loved by all that she crossed paths with her.
She was the loving mother of four children: Kavion (Marc) Campbell, Destiny, Deshontae, and Deroy Bush, who will remember her as a beacon of strength and unconditional love. Schlanda's love and kindness will be profoundly missed by her siblings, Deborah (late Otis) Tucker Sr. Leonard Bush, Kevin Bush, and Lois (late Clay) Landry Sr. She was an amazing grandmother to Marcuss, Kamri, and Micah Campbell who brought immense joy to her life along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Schlanda now joins her beloved parents, the late Leonard Joseph Bush and Dorothy Dell Bush, who proceeded her in death.
Those who knew Schlanda will recall her sweet spirit and warm smile. She had a passion for singing, which she believed was a way to express her love for God. Dancing, cooking and traveling were also among her favorite pastimes, each a testament to her love for sharing happiness with others. Schlanda's kitchen was often filled with the aroma of her delicious meals and the sound of laughter, as she cherished spending time with her family and socializing with friends. Schlanda's favorite scripture is Psalms 91:1 which reads,
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Her mother placed that scripture on her heart at an early age and it stuck with her.
Schlanda's presence will be missed at every family gathering, every song sung, and every dance enjoyed. Yet, her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been graced by her love and friendship. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love she gave so freely.
As we say farewell to Schlanda Lynel Bush, we take comfort in knowing that her life was a melody of love and kindness that resonated with everyone she met. Her story does not end here; it lives on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and all the lives she touched. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Schlanda Lynel Bush will forever live on in our hearts.
Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 17, 2024, 10:00AM, at Professional Funeral Services, 1449 N. Claiborne Ave, NOLA. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the hour of service. Interment Ellen Cemetery, Chalmette, LA.
