Serena LaBouve, 54, of Jennings, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, January 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on Sunday January 26, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday January 27, 2025, until the time of service.
A funeral service to celebrate Serena's life will be held on Monday, at 1:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Brother Austin Spell officiating. Following the service, the family has chosen to honor her wishes of cremation, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Serena was born in Kinder, Louisiana, on April 22, 1970, to John "Bozo" LaBauve and Hilda Pete LaBauve. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids (her world) and her family. She loved "Running the Roads" as she would say, with her friends. Most days you would find her sitting outside drinking a coke and watching her grandkids play. Serena loved her scratch offs and would somehow convince Dezra to bring her to get more and even often times convince Dezra or Jo to take her to Walmart. You can bet, she had plenty of "i.o.u.'s" to Nonnie.
Serena loved going shopping with her sisters and cooking with her brother, Randy. She would play trucks with her NashyPoo anytime he asked. PayPay always had Serena do her makeup or paint her nails and she also always loved spoiling Bebi any chance she got. She enjoyed her morning visit on the porch with Kyleigh. She loved music and dancing, especially when her son-in-law Ethan and granddaughter Elena played guitar and sang. She never missed a game for Karsyn and was his number one fan. She will be greatly missed by many.
Left to cherish their memories of her are her daughters, Kyleigh (Marsha) LaBauve and Dezra (Ethan) Cormier; sisters, Gloria (Jerald) Brunette, Jolane (Brian) Dupont, and Linda Gary; brother, Randy Gary; grandchildren, Kylan, Karsyn, Elena, Paisley, Nash, and Stetson; many nieces, nephews and their children; her compadre, Cam; and her four legged companion, Tee.
Serena was preceded in death by her parents, Bozo and Hilda; sister, Gaylynn LaBauve; brothers, Roger Gary, Damie LaBauve and Malcolm Gary.
