Shane James Prochnow

Dr. Shane James Prochnow, PhD, PG passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the age of 47.

Shane was born December 16, 1977, in San Antonio, Texas to Stanley James Prochnow and Genevieve Metzger Prochnow.

Shane is survived by his mother Genevieve Metzger Prochnow

Children: Lars Prochnow, Saxony Prochnow, Jorgen Prochnow

Brother: Stuart & Sheryl Tugas Prochnow

Partner: Dr. Alena Grechishnikova

Shane was very gifted, showing much potential in his intellectual abilities. He was selected to an early college admission program to attend Texas Academy of Math and Science at the University of North Texas. He graduated in May 1996, By May 1998, Shane graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. He went on to receive a Doctoral degree in Geology from Baylor University.

Shane was the Digital Geoscience Advisor for the Chevron corporation, one of Chevron's top Geologists.

Baptized March 26, 1978 in the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Confirmed May 1996 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church by Rev. Gary Mayer

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, December 9th from 10 to 11 A.M. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cave Creek with a Funeral Service at 11 A.M.

Graveside services and interment will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church
