Shane Ray Starr

Shane Ray Starr, 48 of McAlester died Saturday, December 9, 2023 at his residence.
A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Terren Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Slade Smith, Dakota Blaylock, Judd Starr, Colton Courts, Tommy Crosley and Shane Atwell.
Cremation and service arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
Shane was born to Doug Ray Starr and Geri Rene (Cunningham) on October 18, 1975 in Tulsa. He grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1993 and then attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. He worked as a car salesman in Tulsa and McAlester. In 2005 he began, owned and operated Starr's Tree Service still in business today and worked with his friends and family.
Shane loved to ride his Harley and wrench on it. He had a passion for raising Pitbull's, and has raised many through the years. He also enjoyed fishing.
Shane was an inspiration to all that knew him and his smile would light up the room and his presence would brighten the lives of others.
Shane was a member of NA on and off over many years. The relationships he built where life-long, like a second family. He helped
many men get clean and employed them while they were unemployable with any other company.
He was a member of Life Church in McAlester.
Shane was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald Cunningham; paternal grandparents; step grandparents, Clifford and Beulah Coxsey.
He is survived by his mother, Geri Watson and husband, Brett of McAlester, father, Doug Starr and wife, Tracy of Collinsville; fiancé, Tabatha Sutton of the home; daughters, Hailey Raye Starr of Pryor, Taylor Faith Starr of Fayetteville, Arkansas; son, Tristan Shane Starr of Missouri, brother, Josh Starr; sister, Erin Starr; maternal grandmother, Vada Faye Cunningham of Broken Arrow; Aunt and uncle, Lori Hefley and husband, Mike of Broken Arrow; cousins and spouses, Mike Hefley, Tylor Hefley and other cousins, step-father that raised Shane for 13 years, Bob Powell of Sapulpa; cousins, other family members and friends.
Shane had a tireless spirit, he enjoyed life, his family and friends; He will be missed but not forgotten.
