Sharon L. Phillips, 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Parsonsburg, MD, on June 18, 2025. Sharon's journey through life was marked by love, service, and an unwavering faith that touched all who knew her. She was born on May 14, 1946, in Salisbury, MD, and was preceded in death by her parents, Rossie K. "Pete" and Helen S. Jones.
Sharon graduated from Wicomico High School in 1964. Her career as a Licensed Hearing Aid Consultant and Office Manager at Beltone-Lednum, from which she retired, showcased her commitment to helping others - a defining trait of her personality. Her professional life was complemented by her skill and passion as a Licensed Nail Technician, where she brought joy, confidence, and lots of friendly conversation to her clients.
She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of nearly 60 years, W. Wayne Phillips. Their marriage was marked by mutual respect and an unbreakable bond. Together, they raised their daughter, Dr. Dara L. Phillips, instilling in her the values of love, faith, and the importance of family. Sharon's role as a wife and mother was one, she treasured deeply, and her family will forever remember her as the heart of their home. She also leaves behind a brother, Kirk S. Jones of Eden; nieces, nephews, and several cousins spanning from New Jersey to Florida; and many cherished friends.
A devout Christian, Sharon's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. It guided her actions and provided comfort in times of need - both for herself and for those she loved. Her faith was evident in the way she lived her life, always looking to provide kindness, support, and prayer to those around her. She attended Delmar Church of God of Prophecy in Delmar, DE.
Sharon's interests were varied and vibrant. As an avid traveler, she loved exploring new places internationally and taking long road trips throughout the United States especially to Florida and the Smoky Mountains. She enjoyed shopping, tending to her flower garden, reading mystery books, and creating and cooking new recipes. Those who knew Sharon would describe her as friendly, faith-filled, and loving. She had a presence that stood out in any crowd and a personality that could light up a room making everyone feel welcome.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804, with a visitation one hour prior.
Pastor Mike Phillips from Delmar Church of God of Prophecy will officiate. Interment will follow in Wicomico Memorial Park, Salisbury, MD.
